How to Get the Best Search Engine Rankings Across a City
I’m often asked the “If you were me, what would you do?” question about optimising a businesses site for a whole city or state. It’s a big question and most people won’t do what I tell them to do because it is a heap of work. That said, anything worth doing will take a heap of work, money or time.
So here’s what I would do:
1. Make a list of every suburb in the city.
2. Make a list of all the main keywords that you want to found for in each of those suburbs,
3. Combine the suburbs with the keywords e.g.
- dog training Mudgeeraba
- dog walking Mudgeeraba
- dog trainer Mudgeeraba
- dog walker Mudgeeraba
- dog training Southport
- dog walking Southport
- dog trainer Southport
- dog walker Southport, etc
4. Write a page for your site for each one of these keyword phrases using the phrase in the page name, page title, page headline and in the text as well.
5. Ensure that each page is at least 40% original from all the other pages you write.
6. Add the pages into your site.
It sounds so simple doesn’t it yet most people will never take this extra step.
